The Senior Management Team (SMT) is responsible for the leadership, strategy and priorities of MJAP. They are charged with the delivery of the overall mission, program direction and for the day to day running of the program. It is comprised of:


Executive Director –  Dr. Jennifer Namusobya  

Dr. Jennifer Namusobya(M.B.CH.B), has experience in public health practice and management that spans 20 years. Prior to joining MJAP, she worked as Project Director/ Chief of Party-Expansion of Routine HIV Counselling and Testing and the Provision of Basic Care in Clinics and Hospitals in Uganda and Program Manager, Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV & Voluntary Counselling and Testing (PMTCT/ VCT) with the HIV/AIDS Integrated Model District Programme (AIM). She has also held various supervisory positions in the District Health Services.

lee_anne    Human Resource Manager – Anne Lee Nakaweesi

Anne has over 15 years’ experience in Human Resource Management and Administration both in government and non-government sectors. She has built her career through developing, reviewing and implementing comprehensive HR systems, policies and strategies.She was instrumental in setting up the HR department at Uganda AIDS Commission (UAC) and sourcing for a multi-skilled talented team to drive coordination of the HIV/AIDS national response, during the early stages of the epidemic.

 Prevention Manager –  Dr. Dalsone Kwarisiimadalsone

She holds a medical degree (MB.ChB) from Mbarara University of Science and Technology and aMasters Degree in Public Health (MPH) from Makerere University. Before joining MJAP, she worked with Hospice Africa Uganda where she offered palliative care to cancer and HIV patients as well as offering palliative care lectures to medical students at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST).


Care & Treatment Manager – Fred C. Semitala MBChB, M.Med, MPH

Dr. Semitala is also the Head of Research at MJAP. He trained as a physician at Makerere University, Evidence-Based Medicine from the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Belgium 2008 and obtained MPH in Epidemiology from the University of California Berkeley, USA.  He has 15 years of experience in HIV-care and training, and has over eight years of experience in HIV programming and research. His research interests are in implementation aspects of the HIV care cascade, diagnosis, and care for HIV associated TB.


Stephen Kyambadde – Finance and Operations Manager

He has over nine years’ experience in Procurement, Finance, Contracts Management and General Administration. He is also experienced in managing donor-funded projects, especially the  USG funded programs. Stephen joined MJAP as a  Procurement Officer and was very instrumental in setting up the now fully fledged procurement function. He has grown through the ranks to become the Procurement Manager and the Finance and Operations Manager, a role he currently holds.
