The Senior Management Team (SMT) is responsible for the leadership, strategy, and priorities of MJAP. They are charged with the delivery of the overall mission, program direction and for the day to day running of the program. It is comprised of:


Dr. Dalsone Kwarisiima – Ag. Executive Director &  Program Manager 

Dr. Dalsone Kwarisiima (M.B.CH.B), holds a medical degree from Mbarara University of Science and Technology and a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH) from Makerere University. Before joining MJAP, she worked with Hospice Africa Uganda where she offered palliative care to cancer and HIV patients as well as palliative care lectures to medical students at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST).



Dr. Fred C. Semitala  – Technical Manager, Care & Treatment

Dr. Fred C. Semitala (MBChB, M.Med, MPH) is also the Head of Research at MJAP. He trained as a physician at Makerere University, Evidence-Based Medicine from the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Belgium 2008 and obtained MPH in Epidemiology from the University of California Berkeley, USA.  He has 15 years of experience in HIV-care and training and has over eight years of experience in HIV programming and research. His research interests are in implementation aspects of the HIV care cascade, diagnosis, and care for HIV associated TB.

 Anne Lee Nakaweesi – Human Resources Manager 

Anne has over 15 years’ experience in Human Resource Management and Administration both in government and non-government sectors. She has built her career through developing, reviewing and implementing comprehensive HR systems, policies and strategies. She was instrumental in setting up the HR department at Uganda AIDS Commission (UAC) and sourcing for a multi-skilled talented team to drive coordination of the HIV/AIDS national response, during the early stages of the epidemic.
