Executive Director, Dr Jennifer Namusobya.

Dr. Jennifer Namusobya(M.B.CH.B) is the Executive Director- Makerere University Joint AIDS Program (MJAP).  Dr. Jennifer’s experience in public health practice and management spans 20 years. Prior to joining MJAP, she worked asProject Director/ Chief of Party-Expansion of Routine HIV Counselling and Testing and the Provision of Basic Care in Clinics and Hospitals in Uganda and Program Manager, Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV & Voluntary Counselling and Testing (PMTCT/ VCT) with the HIV/AIDS Integrated Model District Programme (AIM). Anne has over 15 years’ experience in Human Resource Management and Administration both in government and non-government sectors. She has built her career through developing, reviewing and implementing comprehensive HR systems, policies and strategies.She was instrumental in setting up the HR department at Uganda AIDS Commission (UAC) and sourcing for a multi-skilled talented team to drive coordination of the HIV/AIDS national response, during the early stages of the epidemic…. Gideon Amanyire MB.ChB, MPH

Dr Gideon Amanyire is the Program Manager, Mbarara, MJAP. He completed his medical degree (MB.ChB) from Makerere University in 1989. Dr Amanyire also has training in Community Health (DCH) from the University of Innsbruck, Institute of Public Health, Austria (1994) and a Masters Degree in Public Health from Makerere (2002). He completed a Fellowship in HIV/AIDS Research & Management (MU IPH-CDC HIV/AIDS Fellowship Program) in 2004.He is a Public Health Specialist with more than a decade’s experience of heading Decentralized District Health services in rural Uganda as District health Officer (DHO).  Dr Dalsone Kwarisiima is the Prevention Advisor MJAP.dalsone

She holds a medical degree (MB.ChB) from Mbarara University of Science and Technology and aMasters Degree in Public Health (MPH) from Makerere University. Before joining MJAP, she worked with Hospice Africa Uganda where she offered palliative care to cancer and HIV patients as well as offering palliative care lectures to medical students at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). Fred C. Semitala, MBChB, M.Med, MPH

Advisor for HIV care and treatment/ Head research at the Makerere University Joint AIDS Program (MJAP). He trained as a physician atMakerere University, Evidence Based Medicine from the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Belgiumin 2008 and obtained MPH in Epidemiology from the University of California Berkeley, USA.  He has 15 years of experience in HIV-care and training, and has over eight years of experience in HIV programing and research. His research interests are in implementation aspects of the HIV care cascade, diagnosis and care for HIV associated TB. Read more>>

Stephen Kyambadde – Finance and Operations Manager, MJAP

He has over nine years’ experience in Procurement, Finance, Contracts Management and General Administration. He is also experienced in  managing donor funded  projects especially the  USG funded programs. Stephen joined MJAP as a  Procurement Officer and was very instrumental in setting up the now fully fledged procurement  function. He has grown through the ranks to became the Procurement Manager and the Finance and Operations Manager, a role he currently holds. Read more>>
